I’m so glad you are here

You’ve entered a judgment-free zone

I dropped off my daughter and…

I felt a pit in my stomach. Things were never going to be the same! I tried to hold it together, but it was harder than I thought it would be. “Can I really miss her this much already?” I wondered.

An unexpected wave of emotion rolled in – I was so happy and proud of my child, but I felt sad, lonely, and heartbroken.

This emotional rollercoaster was not part of the college prep course!

I realized I wasn’t alone in these feelings.  Many parents experience this tumultuous mix of emotions when their children leave for college.

When I started to research hot to get some support, I kept running into more dorm-room checklist, articles about empty nesters (which I am not yet), and all kinds of support for my child –  what about for me?

This is why I became a parent coach supporting other parents of college-bound kids going through these seismic shifts.

What you’re feeling is normal, valid, and manageable. The journey of letting go is as much about your growth as it is about your child’s.

Together, we’ll navigate this new chapter, transforming your emptier nest into a launchpad for personal rediscovery and renewed purpose. Those bittersweet moments can be opportunities for joy, growth, and deeper connections with your child.

As someone who’s going through it too, let me support you during this exciting new phase of parenthood.

What if I knew how to cope with this transition?

My Mission

To support parents who just sent their kid to college process those emotional ups and downs of this transitional time so they can feel calm, reassured, and joyful.

Welcome, I’m Diana

Diana Davidson

Parent Coach

I’m Diana, two-time girl mom – with one in college at UC Berkeley, Go Bears! (cheering even though I went to UCLA) and another one in middle school.

I’ve spent over 25 years working with parents and children from infants all the way through college.

Through my own parenting and lots of mom wins and fails, I’ve learned that parenting doesn’t have to be a struggle. My approach brings an element of calm to family life, eliminating the word “should” from the parenting playbook.

Things you didn’t ask for:

  • Born in Mexico City, but call San Diego, home
  • I have a poodle-mystery name, Fozzie
  • I spend a lot of time sitting on the floor singing with babies and toddlers at Songbirds Music.
  • M.Ed. from UVA in Curriculum and Instructional Design, B.A from UCLA, BCLAD Teaching Credential
  • Certified Parent Coach from Jai Institute for Parenting
  • Love to travel with my family – Summer 2024 we went to Japan!
  • Obsessed with Flamenco – I love to dance it, watch it, and listen to it.

My Values

Openness

Open mind, open hand, open heart. To listen, learn, and embrace curiosity, growth, and change with flowing channels of communication to embrace new opportunities and perspectives. Get curious before you get furious.

Empowerment

Develop independence, trust, and confidence as you navigate this new phase in life. Let go of what does not serve you so you can make space to connect with yourself and your child in a new way.

Communication

Honest, clear, and consistent communication is essential so everyone feels seen, heard, supported, and understood. This builds trust, strengthens, relationships, and fosters a positive family dynamic and nest-to-college harmony.

Joy

Celebrate those sprinkles of happiness during this exciting time. Hold on to positivity, satisfaction, and sweet moments. Honor yourself; you launched a baby bird! Appreciate the work you are doing.
